Ardonagh Takes Orvia Underwriting Global in MGA Expansion

The Ardonagh Group has announced plans to expand the Orvia Underwriting brand across its global Managing General Agent (MGA) portfolio, bringing together more than $3 billion in Gross Written Premium.

The move will initially bring Ardonagh’s pan-European, UK and Specialty MGAs under the Orvia brand, led by Mark McIlquham as CEO. Following a transition period in 2027, UK-based Geo Underwriting will become Orvia UK, while the brand will subsequently extend across the Group’s wider underwriting portfolio globally.

The expansion follows the European launch of Orvia in January 2026 and represents a broader shift within Ardonagh from a regional operating model towards a global, product-led approach.

Beyond the structural changes, technology and data form part of the strategy. Group Chief Executive David Ross highlighted Ardonagh’s previous investment in data, AI and placement capabilities, designed to bring its distribution portfolio into a more unified view and strengthen its position in the market.

The global Orvia platform will span more than 50 product lines, including Professional and Financial Lines, High Net Worth, Marine, Cyber, Property and Casualty, and Specialty.

The announcement signals another significant development in the global MGA market as Ardonagh looks to combine underwriting expertise, analytics, scale and its international distribution network under a more cohesive global brand.
