Grassroots football club for men and women with a learning disability.

After so many years helping professional people with their careers we also wanted to ensure that Nexus Connect was able to give back in some way or another. With our HQ in Southwark, we started looking locally and came across a worthy cause in the Southwark Stars disability football club.

The Southwark Stars are a group of players that put unity above anything else. Brought together by their love of the game, they train once a week, and play friendlies and tournaments against other disability football teams. They pride themselves on giving everyone an equal opportunity to enjoy the beautiful game. Their goal is to be a true representation of our community, in Southwark, London.

Since 2018 the Southwark Stars have been playing and winning with their hearts. Kept running by the incredible Louis Wickett-Padgham‘s passion for coaching and devotion to helping those less represented, they believe that the strength of a community lies in the diversity of its voices. They welcome both adult female and male players into the team hoping that they will find the appreciation they deserve.

Throughout the 2024 / 25 season we will be providing the inner-city team with training and match day kit for both the men and women’s team that make up the 70 players. Our amazing marketing team will be running their socials and website and the team here are set on being their loudest cheerleaders!

Please follow them and show your support for this incredible group of people.
